FAQs

Q?What is the difference between CdAgO material and Cu/Ag Tungsten
A.

CdAgO has Medium conductivity, low resistance and material transfer. Hard with excellent arc quenching properties. Cu/Ag Tungsten – both have lower conductivity, both are extremely hard and are ideal for high voltage, heavy duty applications.

Q?Why do some use Cadmium free solder and others use cadmium bearing solders
A.

Cadmium bearing silver solders aide the capillary flow of the solder but they can emit dangerous fumes and should only be used in well ventilated area’s and should not be used if the soldered joints are to come in contact with any food/drinking water utensils. Cadmium Free solders are safe to use in any application including food applications – they do not flow as well as the Cadmium bearing solders but this is easily overcome by increasing the silver content.
